Keep the Light on

We thank Thee, our God, for an hour like this – a time when we can enjoy fellowship and laughter – free of tension and strain.  Teach us the secret of living without strain and worry. Teach us how to live just one day at a time – to recognize  and enjoy the many blessings that are ours and to be content in knowing that you care for each of us.  Amen

This could have been titled, Teach us how to live. “Teach your children well” yes, I hear the song.

But I also hear Tom Bodette’s voice telling me he’ll “keep the Light on.” Dad always kept this little light on in the living room while we slept upstairs. It was and is a comforting reminder of his care.
