review 1: This is a very enjoyable book. I like to read a lighter book when I've just finished a dark one and this fit the bill.It deals on the fringes of the occult leaving you with the possibility that strange things did happen or not. The protagonist Liz is a real and complex person. The story had many twists and turns up through the end. Just the right amount of mystery plot and romance. I look forward to reading the next one.
review 2: For someone who has never read a voodoo based supernatural before, it was a bit of a slow start. I spent much of the first chapter confused. Not to worry though, after the slight football oriented chapter 3 it picked up and quickly became unconfused and very drawn in. The main character is likable and smart, offten picking up on thing
... mores most wouldnt have taken note of. By chapter 5, I was forced to put the book down only by my family requesting dinner. Wonderful story so far! The farther into the book I get the more intrigued I am. Wonderful character development and an amazing mystery. After all is said and done, really enjoyed this read. Amazing mystery and uptil the end I still wasnt sure who did it, thankfully the cards revealed all! Do check out this author, its a good read! less
