review 1: I read the book Knightley & Son, a crime book.I really enjoyed the book because it had crime and mystery. At the beginning of the book it starts out slow but as you begin to read more it gets more interesting. The theme of the book is crime. The setting in the book takes place in London. The story is told from a third person point of view. The protagonist characters are Knightley and Darkus. Other major characters are Tilly, Clive and Uncle Bill.It was really interesting reading a book like knightley & Son. It was really interesting because there were a lot of surprises. It surprised me that some of the Characters played a bigger role in the story than I thought they would. It also surprised me when certain characters put their own life at risk which made the story more exci... moreting. I would read the next book Knightley & Son:K-9. The reason I would read the next book by this author because this book was thrilling and created suspense.I can’t wait for the second book to come out.'
review 2: One of the major themes here is that detectives--the good ones, anyway--are divorced from their emotions. I, too, felt divorced from my emotions while reading this book. Darkus is very intelligent and dedicated to his father, who has been in a coma for 4 year, but he isn't lovable or really even that interesting. This definitely has a young Sherlock Holmes feel, and Darkus is set up to be brilliant and have an unbelievable memory, making him just so valuable. It works to solve the mystery but it did not work to pull me into the book. less

Good mystery with a touch of paranormal. A little slow to warm up to Darkus but he grows on you.

Cute middle-grade read. I'd have loved it when I was 11.
