review 1: ok everyone is entitled to a guilty pleasure, mine is reading Roxie Rivera stories.This story is exactly what I want in a short read, only 57 pages. The story begins with a young college co-ed Cassie looking to save the only family member she has left, her brother. Her brother has a gambling addiction and is in deep trouble with Houston's most feared loan shark. What she learn about Hagen is that he operates his criminal empire with ruthlessness and fear. She just prays her payment will be enough to keep the knee-breakers at bay for a little while longer. Hagen shatters her hope when he informs her the debt owed is far, far more than the four grand she's scraped together. Feeling rather generous, Hagen makes Cassie an offer she can't refuse: her body to settle the debt. ... moreAll I can say this read was pure entertainment. Great background story, strong characters and of course Roxie Rivera's trademark, toe curling, hot sizzling passion. I certainly do not regret buying this book, what a ride.
review 2: This book had potential but it needed more of a plot. Loan shark meets girl. Loan shark does girl. Loan shark decides to keep girl around. Then loan shark decides to change his entire life for girl. And he's got tons of money so he'll buy her whatever she wants and pay for her college and everything. It just didn't grab me. It was instant lust/instant love and not much else. I did like this author's book from a different series, Dmitri (Her Russian Protector) Try that book. less
