review 1: Andy Reed had a special connection with Rose Piper since they were children. Over the years he became her best friend and confident, until he realized she had grown up and become a woman who he wanted forever with. With her best interest in mind Andy does something he will regret for eight years, until he gets a chance to correct his past mistake and never let her go again. As they Andy and Rose begin their new life together, it is riddled with secrets from Rose's past that should have been revealed long ago.The second in the Black Creek series, takes off with Rose a spirited ten-year old. I was surprised over the span of the eight years what had transformed with all of the characters I came to embrace in the first book. I thought this was a story about second chances an... mored Andy quickly became a favorite, he is goofy, attentive, and swoon worthy. Another excellent addition to this series.
review 2: Andy and Rose's journey throughout Flying Shadows was great. R.T. Wolfe did an awesome job traversing these two characters lives from children into adulthood. As a reader, I loved how the book flowed over the years and didn't have any hiccups in the timeline.Childhood buddies become best friends turn into young lovers, and the plot continues. I honestly thought this book was beautifully written. Andy and Rose have much more depth to them than what you see on the surface. The other characters from Black Creek Burning show up as subplots again. You learn so much that went on through the years with all the characters. It is heartbreaking at times, suspenseful throughout, and kickass most of the time. Rose's mom, Amanda, had such a deep telling tale for which I'm glad Wolfe didn't make light of. The bad guy was truly evil which you are able to see when Wolfe writes from his POV.I can't wait until the next Black Creek book. I hope Wolfe continues with this series amoung others because the writing sytle flows wonderfully. less
