review 1: When I first started this book, I thought it was a little slow (and a bit dull). Plus, I kept confusing the characters Margalese and Lawrence. (I don't know why). I actually almost gave up on it, but I'm glad I stuck it out. After about the first 50 pages the book got amazing!Little known fact about me: I love drama and a good scandal. I can't help it. (I try to stay out of the fray, but I can't help myself from standing on the sidelines and watching the drama llama run amok. It's a sickness and I should probably be ashamed. Probably).I loved the storyline. It wasn't as light and fluffy as I thought it was going to be. It was actually quite intense. There were so many plot twists and crazy characters. It was awesome. The entire book is a big scandal and the best part is, y... moreou don't know until the very end, if the "good guys" succeed or fail. I'm glad that this book wasn't at all what I expected because it turned out to be much better. While the book isn't the fluffy musical that one might expect with a book set around the Broadway stages, it is definitely worth the read. The characters are engaging and the plot grabs onto you and keeps you turning the page. Once I got past the first 50 pages I could not put it down. This is a book that I will probably read again. Below is a guest post by Ruby Preston about how she got started in Broadway.
review 2: Check out the full review at Kritters RamblingsAfter taking a trip to New York City in June for Book Expo America, it was quite fitting to read this book and see the behind the scenes look at the Broadway world. So often a book that takes you behind the scenes centers around the cast and crew, but this book takes you into the producer's offices and the reader comes to realize what must happen financially before a show can get in a theatre. less
