review 1: A competent, well-written murder mystery with a killer twist (no pun intended). I felt the story flagged mid-way, perhaps a significant flaw in a story clearly designed to be a 'page turner'. However, it's definitely worth a read; despite the tedium of the main protagonist's all-pervasive affluent angst: public adulation, a nanny, a cleaner, a detached mansion in the metropolis...and olive trees (YES! OLIVE TREES!!)...some people's lives are just so...shitty (bless).
review 2: This is a very well written crime thriller. The tention runs throughout the entire story and kept me guessing right until the end. The only critisim I would have is that the arrest part of the story line was factually incorrect. Persons can only be held in custody for 24hrs unless there i... mores a superintendants extention. In the story line this would never have been granted. Chief Inspectors also don't camp outside suspects houses and they never tell suspects :not to go on any long journeys. So overall I wish that this part of the story would have been more accurate which would have enhanced the story for me. Not withstanding, this was very good righting, tense and real. Woudld recomend it as a great holiday read. less
