review 1: My roommate picked this up for me because she thought the title was funny (granted, she thinks most romance novel titles are funny, but she actually laughed at this one and decided I had to read it since I am our resident romance reader). I was a little hesitant to read this at first. But I am so glad I did.This is so good. So, so good. The plot was well-done, and Jeffries is a great storyteller. I just loved pretty much everything about it. I will say, the ending is a little dramatic for my tastes. Kidnappings at gunpoint and near-death experiences aren't my thing. But there was necessity for it in this book, I think. Considering the circumstances in an attempt to objective, the ending was a solid fit for the book.Seriously, even if you're not a huge fan of murde... morer investigations and heroine getting kidnapped for a moment, you should still read this. Wed Him Before You Bed Him is phenomenally done.The moral of this story is I should let my roommate pick books for me more often.
review 2: I just couldn't forgive the Hero for all his years of asshatness. Not that Charlotte is blameless, but considering how unempowered women were back then, the bulk of the asshat glory falls to the Hero. Especially after knowing her for years, almost intimately, he could still be such an asshat.I felt like I needed to power through it, but I don't think I would have finished it if it hadn't capped off an otherwise excellent series, because the whole story left a bad taste in my mouth.It was OK I guess. Kinda like ending the fireworks with a fizzle though.I read this a while ago and because I still felt badly about the Hero, I felt I needed to revisit it and take away stars. Sometimes after thought, I'll go back and add stars and sometimes, take them away. less
