review 1: Both those who remember the actual personnel from the American Embassy taken hostage by revolutionaries and those who know the hostage taking from "Argo" are probably inclined to paint all Iranians with the same brush. This novel attempts to balance that out with its telling through interrelated stories of Iranians who, challenging the radical theocracy, suffered imprisonment, execution, and lives filled with trauma and fear. Although compelling, the novel would have worked better as short stories. As a novel the details were often confusing and lacked some cohesion. That being said, the book is well worth a look-see.

Et l'histoire qui se répète. Très belle écriture! less
