review 1: A beautiful romance novel. Venus Collingsworth decides to take a dip in the cool pond on a hot summers day. The land is now in the hands of the Duke of Greycliffe. Venus hopes to set her sister, who always has her nose in a book, up with the Duke when they arrive. Duke and his cousin Andrew Valentine have arrived earlier then expected. When the housekeeper mixes up of who is who between the gentleman, the Duke decides to play it out. He just once, since taking on this royal role, would like nothing better than to be just a normal man. Drew is introduced to Venus as he is surveying the grounds an comes upon the beautiful, naked woman in the pond. I thought it was a bit slow at first, then the story line really picked up into a beautiful love story. I was terribly disappoint... moreed though in the ending. The author left me high and dry, and I felt she wass just trying to hurry and get the book finished. It really is a shame, as it had so much potential of having a fantastic ending.
review 2: The Duchess of Love is a short novella that was included in the book Bedding Lord Ned. This short story is about Venus and Drew (Ned's Parents) and their love story. I wanted to do a separate review for this one, I found I really liked this one even if it was a bit short, with only being 97 pages. There was a sense of charm and sweet feeling to the story. Venus is well known in her country town as the matchmaker of love. When the Duke of Greycliff comes to town, she decides to try to set him up with her beautiful sister. When she first meets Drew, they meet under less formal circumstances and she believes him to be the Duke's cousin, not the Duke himself. Drew has been the Duke since he was thirteen years old but is looking for someone that will see him as himself and not the Duke. So he hides who he is from Venus, wanting her to love him for who he is and not what he is. Overall I found it to be a witty and poignant story that I found to be a very fun story, a good start to the series. less

Super cute premise--way too much focus on the lust between the main characters instead of the love!
