review 1: A very entertaining story. Though sometimes it was filled with lots of cliches i can say that it was a very interesting debut. I gave it five stars because i can't rate it 4.5 and the reason i take half point away is because i was expecting a bigger picture of what was going on at the end in order to have some sort of motivation to keep reading the series. I will read the sequel however, since i like the author's writing style. If you like stories of survival i recommend you this book.
review 2: I very much enjoyed the authors style, interaction and constant flow. I particularly liked how he worked in the humor and interaction between the main characters. point of view was excellent as both male and female characters I thought were very accurately portrayed.
... morewhat really helped make this excellent novel was the way the natural human attractive interaction between the sexes. when you think of a 19-year-old coming of age becoming emotionally engaged perhaps falling in love it's a classic portrayal of human life this I thought was very well done and the story the interactions of the 20 and 30-year-olds was equally well conceived. the only problem I had with the entire novel after reading the first three books in the series was the overall science fiction concept of vampire type creatures. while the author hinted that perhaps they were from an alien source I wish he had taken the time to get off the well beaten track of vampires. You could've just as easily had some form of alien that could not withstand sunlight. This a much better story. Again is just me, I prefer something away from the standard vampire sort of logic. If you don't mind the vampire concept this book is clearly five stars or 10 out of 10. less

It was fun escapism to read, but the dialogue was so rough that I had a hard time finishing it.

Post apocalyptic Vampire world takeover. Sort of The Strain light. I enjoyed it though.

A little scary for me at the start, but I still could not put it down...

Entertaining end-of-the-world series.
