A Liv Bergen Mystery
review 1: A bit predictable, and it suffers from the author's habit of having the characters explain things to each other that they would never need to explain, just to make sure you, the reader, have the info. Refers to the first volume of the series a great deal in the beginning without actually explaining any of the events from the first volume, so it takes a while to get into the story. Still, an enjoyable read. I would recommend reading the initial volume first.
review 2: So I really liked this one--I liked how the mystery unfolded and then came together with a couple of twists thrown in. ... moreparent the narrator is changing). Liv is a wonderful narrator and I did find myself chuckling at some parts. The only thing is and this holds true with the first one is that I feel the stories need to grab the reader quicker than they do. One of the reasons I trudged through the first few chapters was b/c I really liked "In the Belly of Jonah" by Brannan and remembered that one took awhile to take off as well but the story was a big pay off, as was this one. Still, I think it would be a good idea for the next one to not take too much time laying out the seeds as not many readers are that patient. less

I enjoyed this mystery. A little predictable with some of the plot twists but overall a page turner.
