review 1: Disappointing. My first Sandra Brown book, and it doesn't hang together. A beautiful, abused widow catches a reporter tracking her family to an island and photographing them in secret, so she falls in love with him. He Has His Reasons, and She Is In Danger, but she doesn't know that yet. Not a subtle book. The last few chapters are better, but there are too many long descriptive passages and diary entries to get through to reach the payoff.
review 2: Good mystery about a war correspondent suffering from a horrible war memory who wants to follow up on the story of a long time pair of terrorists. His FBI guardian was involved in their escapades decades ago and still needs to capture them. The son of this pair was married but they are divorced and he is presu... moremed dead. It all gets tangled up together and the book moves at a fast pace. As the individual stories evolve, so does the relationship of the correspondent and the widow, the xhusband and the terrorists, the friendly neighbor and the widow etc. The final chapters bring some great surprises and satisfied the reader as a job well done. less
