Will he be able to gain control of his shifter side or will his shifter win, destroying any hope he can have a future with Brock, and destroying Brock in the process? This book was amazing! I absolutely love the series. I started book one and didn't stop till I was finished with this one. I can't wait for the next one to come out. I definitely recommend this book. review 2: I am so addicted to this series! The assassin/ shifter series never fails to deliver an intense, incredible story that grips you from page one. This one is so much more because it deals with difficult situations with amazing compassion. Suicide is a huge factor in this book, and having had to deal with this subject in my own world, I was concerned how it would play out. Sandrine has gone above and beyond in how she expressed the facets of it. I knew this book would be awesome, but it exceeded my expectations.Brock is the son of Aphrodite, and as such, men lust after him all the time. All he really wants is to be loved, yet all others want from him is sex. He isn’t even loved by his adopted parents. They showed him off when it suited them. They already were disgusted by him for being gay. Being a demi-god was one more thing they could not accept. They didn’t even tell him they were moving. He happened upon the house as they were leaving. Zack is a wolverine shifter, but he doesn’t want Brock to know. He is assigned to watch over Brock, but because of the things that were done to him in captivity, he says all the wrong things when he gets flustered. Zack is part of the team ever since John freed him in Siberia. But Zack is extremely damaged from what was done to him. He and Brock have trouble getting along at first.Brock spends a lot of nights getting laid as he hunts for the love that is missing in his life. The one true friend he has is his roommate Jordy. Zack begins to realize that he has feelings for Brock when his jealousy gets the better of him. Brock’s ex, K, isn’t who he says he is and tries to manipulate Brock. He almost succeeds in destroying him. Because of the things that happen, Brock and Zack become much closer, yet Zack is always afraid that he will hurt Brock because his shifter side is stronger than his humanity. It takes the entire team to help these two figure out what matters, but will it be in time to save one of their own? And will the Gods be able to help? We get to know much more about who Brock and Zack really are in this book. I love that with each new book we find out more and more about all the members of the teams. This installment is a must read for anyone who is a fan of this series! It is an incredible story that also has some important lessons in it. And for those that think life is too hard and isn’t worth living? You especially should read this. Life has a lot of twists and turns, and it is not always easy. But stick around, or you might miss some amazing events. Grab a copy and settle in for a whirlwind of an adventure. And if you are just now learning of this series? Start at the beginning and fall in love with these characters, you won’t regret it! less
