review 1: Good story. I have not read part one yet but this one interested me enough that I'm going to read #3 before circling back to the beginning of the series. As with most historical fiction quite a few of the characters are real but significant liberties have been taken with authenticity to craft a good story. That doesn't bother me as long as the creative license isn't excessive (and I think the author has struck a good balance in this case). I could wish that Francesca had a little more depth as a character which is part of why I'm getting the next installation, to see how her story grows over time.
review 2: In the second installment of The poisoner mysteries Francesca is still dealing with her old everlasting problems - love and crazy men. I hoped that some of
... morethe problems that were a big issue in the first part would be solved in this one but that didn't happened, and in the meantime some new questions came and now I'm all confused and I hope that everything will be solved in the third part. All in all, it's a solid part and Francesca is still a great female character and this book deserves a 5 stars rating :) less

Equal to the first novel. Can't wait to read more of Francesca's adventures!

A great sequel to an interesting novel. I can hardly wait for the finale.

Meh. I like Kalogridis's take on the Borgia's better.
