A Mom Zone Mystery
review 1: Ellie Avery is on vacation in Sandy Beach, FL. Her kids have an overnight with her sister-in-law, her husband's flight has been delayed, and Ellie sees a woman tossed from a balcony on the hotel across the road. Then the woman she's supposed to meet disappears. Ellie and her brother Ben find that the woman has died, and someone wants a memory card that's hidden in a knockoff designer purse. After Ben is kidnapped, Ellie must find the card or suffer dire consequences. But when you think about it, this is missing all the domestic chaos and fun that attracted me to this series to start with. It's suspenseful, yes, but it's not the Ellie and family we love.
review 2: If you love to read cozies, this book is for you! Milkshakes, Mermaids, and Murder is the 8th
... more book in the Ellie Avery Mystery Series. In this book Ellie, a military wife, mom extraordinaire, amateur crime solver, and designer bag addict, heads to the Gulf Coast to pick up a Leah Marshall bag and to enjoy a much anticipated family vacation, only to find herself there without her husband and in the middle of a very mysterious murder involving that bag she came to pick up. Her brother, Ben, gets snatched, her children are in danger, and Ellie doesn't know where to turn. Then her double whammy sleuthing and organizational super-powers kick in. She solicits the help of a tabloid reporter, Monica, and together they find the killer and save the day! Monica and Ben are great new characters, and I hope to read more about them in future books.Sara Rosett's books demonstrate a wholesome, loving, family lifestyle. The main characters of this series, Ellie, and her husband, Mitch, demonstrate a loving relationship, exhibit excellent parenting skills, and can always be counted on to do the right thing. This book series makes great gifts; I plan on giving this latest book to several people on my Christmas list. less
