review 1: experimenteel proza enzo, dus het zal wel niet ieders ding zijn, maar allemachtig - ik werd gegrepen door alle stukjes tekst. stridberg's solanas mag dan een literaire schepping zijn, maar ze weet heel goed de kracht, creativiteit en de waanzin van het radicalisme in woord (en (ver)beeld(ing)) te brengen. ik vond hier en daar ook stukjes tekst van wittig en courtney love. pareltjes in een donkere schatkist.
review 2: The book is about Valerie Solanas who grounded SCUM (SOciety for Cutting Up Men) and shot Andy Warhol. It's about her past, her present, and the future lying ahead of her.This book may be one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. It's full of both hidden and obvious poetry. Meanwhile it draws you into the history of a sad soul (Valerie Solana... mores), and how she handles her background. Though I'm frustrated to read how roughly she abuses her intelligence, but at the same time impressed to discover how she fascinates and enchants everyone. Of course she's aware of her stupidity, but at the same time convinced that she's on a mission and therefore doing the right thing.But after saying this I want to point out, that it wasnt foolish of her to follow her intentions. By being that extreme she broaded her message, and made women believe in themselves.By reading this book I got a better (and deeper) look into the (however fictitious) personality of Valerie Solanas, SCUM, Andy Warhol, and the whole thing about being an extreme feminist. less
