review 1: Gosh, I just really enjoyed this book. Nothing much happens, what does is pretty predictable, but there is something about that area of magical realism that, when nicely written, sucks me in.Set in the south, the story does a nice job of showing the characters that the stereotypes that exist are often set by themselves. People make self discoveries, and discover things about each other, as a mystery unfolds, when a skeleton is found buried beneath a peach tree. It is the sort of story that you read, expecting little, but come out of with a big smile on your face. Just lovely!

3.5 starsThis is the 2nd S A Allen Book I've read. Like The Girl Who Chased the Moon, it was an easy and enjoyable read. The story takes place in South Carolina and centers on the restoration of a local inn, Blue Bridge Madam, to its former glory. The focus of the story is 4 millennials who were high school acquaintances and how their relationship to each other grows. For the most part I enjoyed the story.... though I was bothered by the "mystery" of Sebastian, as I felt it was obvious.

Enjoyed this story of Willa & the small southern town she grew up in--then returned to to take it on her own terms. Paxton & Colin (twins),& Sebastian-old schoolmates are also trying to do that. Old family secrets & a grandmother's legacy of friendship create a great story! fav quote: "...& leaves so green they look like they'd just been painted, as if the color would smear if you touched it."
