review 1: I've one word to describe this novel, and it's an date slang term I've never used in my life. Sarah Bird's How Perfect Is That is a HOOT. It's a fast-paced comic novel sent in Austin at the end of the Baby Bush administration and stars a desperate, status-crazed, high ex-housewife who has been divorced by her trust-fund husband and now has to scramble not only to re-establish herself but to find someone who will shelter, feed, and hide her from the IRS, the police and others. This journey to find this con woman's heart is both great fun and a surprise.
review 2: Ran out of books on a trip and picked this one up at a book exchange shelf. So, "How perfect is that?" As to the story, not high on the perfect list. Couldn't stand the characters, didn't find amusem... moreent where I think it might have been intended. Abandoned the book after reading a good hunk of it, grateful to find something else on the shelf at our destination. Don't ask me to rate it, because it wouldn't be fair since I didn't finish it. less
