review 1: A disappointing read. I had high hopes for this debut novel given the glowing reviews. The main character needed to be in deep therapy, not leading an investigation. The story itself relies on too much violence to try to hook the reader. It leaves the reader feeling sad about the direction that society is taking. I found this book to be a waste of time and will not read the next book by this author.
review 2: You usually can tell if a book is going to be a good'un from the first page and this is what I felt as soon as I started Someone Else's Skin. It's not just a great crime novel, it's a brilliantly written book. There were so many spot on observations, vivid descriptions, beautifully crafted sentences I wanted to pocket. The characters were well-developed,
... morethe story engrossing. It's my first dip into crime fiction, but I'll definitely be trusting Sarah Hilary for my next fix. less

Too much domestic violence and child abuse for my taste. A new series that dies right here.
