review 1: This was a very decent romance novel. It wasn't QUITE as raunchy as I expected from the description (which is probably for the best), but there were still plenty of sexy scenes. At times it was repetitive; I swear the scoundrel and the lady had the exact same conversation at least three times. However, for the most part the plot moved along and the book was enjoyable.I was surprised to find that I actually enjoyed the female lead. She had brains (even if they were a bit overemphasized at times) and a personality. She was determined and able to take care of herself without being annoying or mannish. For a romance, very good. Don't let my lowish star rating fool you - I tend to be very critical of the genre.(Tagging it under historical fiction may be a little bit of a stretc... moreh, but I can't Quite bring myself to add a shelf just for romance...)
review 2: Mejor aún que el 1º de esta nueva serie de los canallas.El dueto Pippa-Cross es taaaaan raro y, por ello, adorable, que no podemos dejar de devorar página tras páginas para leer de nuevo sus encuentros dialécticos y de alto voltaje, por supuesto :DLa prosa de la autora me tiene completamente enganchada, y es bastante adecuada a la época ambientada, creando en conjunto una novela romántica, de época, fresca y divertida al mismo tiempo. less
