review 1: A vacation, completely paid for, to Jamaica. Who wouldn't love it? I enjoyed this book. I felt a huge connection with Allie and was surprised what all happened with her on the vacation. Tina was a fun and real character. It is easy to connect with her as well. Savannah reminded me of Samantha from Sex in the City and I just for bored with her. Pauline was... Someone I disliked, felt sorry for and got annoyed with. Dwight was rather boring. Same with Gio and Ryan. Gary... Typical guy. Overall the book wasn't bad. Wasn't my favorite but wasn't bad either. Easy to read, easy to follow and would be a lovely dream come true. Minus Mother Nature showing her temper. If you're a fan of Sarah's you'll enjoy the book. My personal favorite of her's was The Opposite of Me but this nov... moreel was a good read as well.
review 2: This was a fun read for a snowy day; the setting in Jamaica was a welcome respite from bone-chilling temps. When college friends gather for a birthday celebration, they can't leave their pasts and secrets behind. Readers will relate to the challenges of being 30-smomething: marriage, parenthood, identity.Pekkanen weaves her characters well, deepening their complexities as the week in paradise progresses. These portraits and the expected and unexpected twists keep readers turning the pages. less
