review 1: It began with an interesting concept. I had never read a book like this before. It kept my attention thereafter while I contemplated what I would do if I was in Julie's shoes. At times, it would lose me with the main character's focus on money, but I continued on. As I was nearly 3/4 of the way through it, I decided to forge my way to the end. Wow, the end surprised me! It was so touching and unbelievable all at once. I cried at the end and realized how much these characters had meant to me. I am anxious to read another Sarah Pekkanen book to see if she can affect me in her other books as she did in this book.
review 2: I bought the book bc it was on sale. And I judged the cover.A woman's husband has a heart attack, wakes up deciding to sell his bajillion... more dollar business, sell the mansion, etc. Basically bring his life back to the basics.The woman freaks out. Lots of wah wah and boo hoo I AM NOTHING WITHOUT MY HUSBANDS MONEY AND BIG HOUSE. shut up. Glad it was fiction. Otherwise I would have been even more annoyed with the book. less
