review 1: Your rich husband dies, and you don't give a toss. He comes back to life and you're feeling guilty about the not caring part, and then he comes back with a new perspective on life. Do you give him a second chance? What's the deal? How can you get past all the wrongs that made up your life pre-death? That's what our Julia is faced with in this novel. She's living the high life, and its the classic tale of "money doesn't buy happiness". It was really well written and you are easily drawn into the glitzy life portrayed. You are definitely invested in the outcome of Julia's marriage. Short and to the point, this book is really good.
review 2: There was a good message behind it all and it is a decent love story. The friendship between the women was well written. I w... moreould recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the chick lit genre, but this was not my cup of tea. I found the characters grating, the bits of humor made me cringe and I really didn't connect with the sentimentality of the story. I found the writing a bit amateurish and the opera and math stuff to be heavy-handed. It just wasn't for me. However it's very highly-rated and I think many will like this. less
