review 1: Thank god i decided to give this series a second chance after the second book being disastrous. Everything the first book was building up to final climaxed in this final book. This book blew me away. The ending completely shocked me and i was not expecting what happened. I loved how this book showed the evils and goods of humans and mermaids. The theme if loyalty and change is a big part the book. This book gives me hope that mermaids are real. I am so glad this series ended amazingly.
review 2: It all comes down to this. Can Luce save the mermaids in time?I have to admit, I was on the fence with this one. 4 stars or 3 stars? I ended up giving it 3 stars because the beginning was a little slow for me. Other then that, the book was awesome! We left Luce when she
... morewas beginning her mission. She needed to inform as many as possible about the humans who are hunting the mermaids. We see that what has happened before has taken a huge toll on her and she is starting to change her outlook. If humans know about mermaids, then they need to know that they won't harm them. That they need to stop the killing. I liked how Porter kept true to Luce's character through out this book. Luce kept reminding people that she didn't want to be a Queen. She didn't want to be in charge. Yet, she was able to make some of the toughest decisions that anybody would have to make. That shows that she is resilient, something that we learned at the beginning of the series. Also, I enjoyed the different perspectives. I liked that we got to hear from a bunch of different people and see what they were going through. It kept the novel interesting and it gave us a lot more perspective on certain events that happen. The relationship between Dorian and Luce also comes to a turning point in this novel. Although they don't spend a lot of time together, it is their love that inspires them to do things that they wouldn't normally do. Dorian learns to step up and Luce's love for humans and her refusal to kill them helps her in many unexpected ways. This series is a good one for mermaid fans. Honestly, one of the best that I've read. Definitely check it out if you like mermaids who have a sweet tooth for killing humans. less

I wished the book had ended the way I wanted it to end. The book has a great ending anyway though.

It was a STRUGGLE to finish this book. Way to long and I found the plot really lacking.

Such a shame when a good plot is ruined by irritating characters.
