review 1: An admirable first effort. The author avoids many pitfalls of novice novelists (ahem) such as losing the POV or making her characters one dimensional. The weaknesses: 1.) Information dump. Yes, we know you did hours and hours of research. Just don't spill it out in one conversation or "You, know, Jim" type monologues and 2.) The outcome is never really in doubt. The "love triangle" is weak and the cover gives it away anyway (although it is an attractive cover). Authors do not, generally speaking, have control over their book covers, but I really hate it when that happens. If you want your romance to have any believability, you cannot put your boy and girl together on the cover. [/rant]
review 2: Every once in a while you come through books that unexpectedly blo
... morew you away, and this is such a book. I have had this is my collection for quite a while but I didn't feel the urge to read it, until this July when it was selected as the 'book of the month' for my group read. And WOW, I fell so hard for it.I'm not an aviation fan and do not particularly favour wartime stories. However the interaction between Allie & Walt was just too sweet and engaging, you feel for them and ache at every lie they tell that separated them even further. It tugged at my heartstrings and left a deep impression days after I have completed the book. So highly addictive that I forced myself to slow down as I didn't want it to end!Definitely a recommended read and worthy of 5 stars! less

I really enjoyed the story line and the well-written plot. Christian basis is a great thing too.
