review 1: Inseparable, identical twins live a charmed life alone with their mother. Along comes another set of twins for them to be friends with, and a boyfriend for their mother, and their lives change dramatically. Now in their twenties Isolte is a successful fashion editor and Viola is a drop out with anorexia. The story takes place in 1987 with flashbacks to 1972 when a terrible event that summer changes their lives forever. This is about friendship, twins, and jealousy.
review 2: Well, it took me a long time to get through this book, it didn't really do it for me, i was eager to find what had occured in the twins' past for viola to become so ill. WAS it the tragedies in their childhood that caused her illness? Viola was not as confident as her sister, she depende... mored on Isolte to look after her so was it because the sisters separated that viola became ill? Please, don't be put off this book by my comments, i can see it appealing to a lot of readers, unfortunately i am not one of them. less
