review 1: To me this was like a B Flick but in book form. I absolutely love, love, love B Flicks and so naturally I loved this book. I will have to read the rest of this series. I just wish the characters were more fleshed out and brought to life. Maybe a better editor could help with final development. Story was intriguing if only with a few holes. I give 4 stars because 3 being ok, 4 being I liked it, and 5 being I loved it. I liked it enough to want to give the author another chance and see if she could mature in her writing to keep me intrigued enough to finish the series.
review 2: I loved the first book "The Harlot" and this second book "the Libertine" was another great read. It had me stuck to the pages from the start to the finished. I love that it was a historic... moreal romance with a story behind each main character involved. The passion that Lennox and Chloris had between each other was electrifying. This book had everything you want to have in a historical novel starting straight at the beginning to the end. I can't wait to see what the next book "The Jezebel" will be like. A great book written by a very creative writer Saskia Walker. I reccommend you read this book if you want a great read. less
