review 1: Stop Right Now if you are wanting a love story that has all the hearts and flowers and I love you. This is not that book…..This is a book that will leave you saying “WHAT THE FUCK”………….I didn’t know about this book – the first two/three times it was banned and had name changes. I am kind of late in the game on Team Hildreth. That’s me though…. Shows up late to the party…makes a grand entrance and a lasting impression….. haha Anyway – I guess I should say Thank you to Scott for his commitment to getting this book out there and not taking NO for an answer. The man can write people!I went into this one without reading the Synopsis because I mean…. It’s SCOTT HILDRETH! You see that name and you just “one click”…..IF you are not li... moreke me….and read the synopsis you will know what the book is about…. The WARNING – yeah…. Read it…. If any of that shit offends you or turns you off – WALK AWAY! As I started reading…..my emotions were all over the place. I actually sat there a moment and said “self….do you want to continue?” “Ryan just abducted and threw a woman into the trunk of his car”……. “what have you gotten yourself into with this book?” I put on my big girl panties –figuratively speaking and I jumped back on the crazy train – and continued on – trying to wrap my brain around the events that came after that abduction. Shit came at me from left and right like a tornado throwing debris. I honestly had no idea where this was going….. I was strangely pulled in and intrigued at what I discovered as the story began to unfold. We meet several women in this story. All with different backgrounds and different situations. All were given the same “choice to make”. It’s after they make their choice that we learn why and what exactly they wish they could erase from their lives before they die! This book pulled me into so many directions….one minute I am Livid, Angry, Pissed Off and Mad as Fuck and the next I am showing Ryan sympathy. I mean how can you love such an emotionally distraught person? One who kidnaps women and locks them away - has a plan to torture and murder them, one by one. It’s a psychological thriller that had me questioning my own sanity. As sick and fucked up as it sounds…. I was now Team Ryan! I was pulling for him to be the good guy in the end. My heart was ripped out while hearing their stories. I was disgusted and heartbroken and disturbed more than once and still…. Team Ryan! It was full of suspense, twists and turns I never saw coming. And just when I thought I knew how the story would end…and when I thought all the dust had settled…and maybe I could see a small rainbow in the sky…(wishful thinking)….Scott throws me back on that Crazy Train – telling me to buckle the fuck up- because Crazy just got Crazier!I was left in a cloud of WTF….followed by more WTF……and then it really hit me… The clear – message as messed up as it was…….What I am taking away from reading this book is that society is full of people who are not in their right minds and for whatever reasons – no one paid attention. Which then makes such children grow up to be different kinds of monsters. Are they responsible for their actions….YES….. are those who were responsible for them as children to blame as well…I think Yes. Can these individuals be saved? It’s really hard to say. I would like to think that they can be saved. I want to see the good in all people. There are many types of abuse. Often times - combinations of such abuse such as physical and mental can really FUCK a person up…For Life! We can only pray that those individuals will see themselves for something bigger and better. Turning their lives around for the good….. Love your children. Tell them every day. Encourage them with positive and not negative! Hell be that person to encourage and tell others the same……the saying goes - It takes a village to raise a child. This says it all….Scott’s Dedication at the beginning of the book- Pay attention people! Dedication – Children.Pay close attention to them.They grow up to be adults.The really heinous people we see on the news.The serial killers, murderers, rapists, and complete ass-hats of society.Yeah, they were children once.And No one paid attention.
review 2: This was an intense read from beginning to end. I was never sure what was going to happen next. The entire time I was reading this I kept wondering how the story would end. And when it did, my first thought was WOW, I never saw that coming. This is more of a psychological thriller than an erotic book. A lot of the time while I was reading it I had several WTF moments. The author does a great job giving the reader an idea of what could happen in the mind of an adult who was abused as a child. less
