review 1: This was a freebie which I downloaded 3 years ago, so I obviously haven't been desperate to read it or I would have got round to it sooner. It's a collection of pieces, some autobiographical and some containing advice on the writing life. It's a bit of mixed bag, with quite a lot of repetition between the different articles. I found it averagely interesting when I was reading it (some sections more than others), but a couple of weeks later would be hard pushed to remember anything I read.
review 2: This was a quick read on my Dad's Kindle. My first Kindle book, yay. It was insightful in many situations and actually useful since I just finished my first book and am in the process of small re-writes and editing in hoped of future publication. It is written by var... moreious authors. Some are witty and informative, while others are obvious and annoying. If you seek a future in the writing world this book cannot hurt.If nothing else it provides various opinions, for the craft of finely tuned prose varies greatly from writer to writer. less
