review 1: I just finished reading Reasonable Fear and once again Mr Pratt kept me reading late into the night (a work night at that) and I absolutely loved it. If there is one thing that I tell friends, whom I've recommended Pratt's novels to, it's to expect the unexpected in any Joe Dillard story. Well, when I got to Part 3, I had no idea how the author would pull off the ending of the novel, but he did it and left me wanting more.Joe Dillard is a wonderful and complex character and I can't wait to read what life brings for him and his family in future novels.Mr Pratt - Thanks for hours of reading enjoyment.....can't wait until your next novel is released, it will be on my Kindle the day it is.
review 2: I usually quite like Pratt's work and was thoroughly enjoying it f... moreor the first part, but things sagged in the l;atter chapters, ending up akin to a long-forgotten Christmas toy, deflated by the time THE END cross the page.Pratt usually adds some excellent wit to his books and characters, spicing things up with the constantly evolving Joe Dillard. I was getting into the groove of things in this interesting book, but then things went the way of the dodo bird and really took a drop at the end. There were some interesting parts when it came to Columbia drug cartels and even their means of torture, but the Dillard quasi-Rambo character really was not all that interesting. No push from the legal side of things... just one man against plenty of opponents.For a book I have looked for since its release in JAN 2011, I was disappointed with the quality. That said, we all have off days.Chin up, Mr. Pratt and write us another decent piece of Dillard gold. less
