review 1: What a survivor and thriver Scott Brown is! Excellent book by the new Senator. He comes from a very hard background of parents who divorced when he was young and each remarried at least three times. There were abusive stepfathers and an absent father in his life. Scott loved basketball and knew that would be his way out of a life of abuse and often poverty. He attended Tufts on a basketball scholarship, but he wanted to stay in the Boston area in case he needed to protect his mother and half-sister from an often violent stepfather. Scott wanted to widen his options, so he became a military officer in the Reserves, then went on to law school. He became the Cosmopolitan 'Man of the Year' and turned that into some modeling jobs. He is a high energy guy, highly motivated to ha... moreve lots going for him in case anything failed. He's also a committed husband and father. His wife is a successful TV journalist. Brown is a super hard worker and compaigner, very independent-minded. I like him!
review 2: Scott Brown is a great man, and an unbelievably attentive public servant to the citizens of Massachusetts. And though my dealings with him are minimal, I am not hesitant to consider him a friend. It took my a while, but I finally got around to reading his book and I could not believe just how much I valued reading about his life experience from early childhood (growing up in virtually the same neighborhoods I traversed on my bike as a child), through his educational years, and into his professional life. You can truly see how he became the man he is today. Well done, Scott! My admiration for you continues to grow! less
