review 1: A silly romance with an unconvincing CEO and his lukewarm assistant.I am so disappointed by this story. I LOVE the boss and secretary romance theme and the blurb was so promising.Sadly, the story just didn't work for me. Webber just doesn't strike me as a CEO and I don't see the kind of inner core strength needed to be the kind of man he's described to me. His actions just don't match the personality described for the CEO he is supposed to be. Tristan was forgettable and wishy-washy.The dialogue was awkward and the way the characters interacted with each other made no sense.I really wanted to like this book but this just doesn't work for me.
review 2: OMG. The tears. These were some very emotional boys. (One MC sobs(!) on his knees after being rejected.) After
... morewading through an unnecessary prologue and a bunch of exposition on how Tristan came to work for and fall in love with his boss Webber, we get to an island getaway where things get really sappy.I don't have anything against sap, but this book wallows in it. Still, I'm a sucker for romance, and it was nice to see Web pull out all the stops for Tris -- dancing, candles, massages, three-course meals, new clothes, jewelry. I just wish we didn't have to have every outfit, room decor or meal described in detail. There's a bit of corporate intrigue (just a bit), but the focus is mostly on Tris and Web, who finally admit their feelings after circling each other and playing the "is his straight?" game for 2 years. Once they're together, they're together. Although there's potential for a big misunderstanding or forced separation, the author stays away from those traps. If you're in the mood for true romance, this is the book to find it. Just be prepared for the sugar overdose. less

This starts out pretty good, but dissolves into sappiness half way thru. Not enough conflict.

I love a good sappy love story every once in a while, and that is definitely what this was.

3.5 stars. I would have rated higher but the book just didn't have a finished feel to me.
