review 1: Kate McDermott is a graduate student, studying journalism. Dr. Drake Morgan is a neurosurgeon, part time musician, philanthropist and Domm. This is their story. A story of a young woman, curious about BDSM and the lifestyle. Dr. D is the perfect person to teach Kate. And so he does.I really enjoyed this book. The author does a good job of telling the story, painting the picture of how confused Kate is about her feelings. Is she submissive? Can she do meaningless sex? Is Dr. D all he seems to be or is there more? The characters are well written, sometimes with a little too much dialogue. There were times I felt like the same thing was being said, over and over. However, it didn't detract from the overall story.
review 2: This was definitely interesting. It s... morewayed away from the Fifty Shades concept wherein the lifestyle choice is not triggered by hate and pain. However, this first part looks like the story already reached its resolution. I was kind of nervous while I was reading it, wondering how the Hangin' Judge would react to the truth about Drake, much to my surprise it was accepted. I like happy endings, and this one definitely has it,So let's see what the sequels has to offer. :) less
