review 1: DominionBy S.E Lund**** 4-Star Great Book~This book was read as part of an anthology (Tall, Dark and Supernatural); however, I felt each book needed a stand alone review along with the total review.~The writing in Dominion is spectacular-the use of language a work of art. The editing and proofing is pretty good as well.I feel the history weaved in to the story of Julian and Michel is great background and insight into the type of vampire culture that will take place throughout the series.The concept of this book is quite unique and an interesting way to integrate humans and vampires. The desire throughout the book builds and builds. The sexual interludes could be seen as sexy or a bit degrading to females. Just depends how you take it.Without giving any spoilers I will say ... moreI was infuriated by the cliff hanger and definitely will read the next in the series.
review 2: At first I was truly enjoying Dominion. Even though I felt it was kind of "fake" at the beginning. The whole I want revenge on vampires to falling in love with one all within a few days is a bit fast. Then Eve is in love and having sex with Michel. The scenes were so much alike and it just went on and on and on to the point where I had to take a break for a week just finish reading it. Dang if I didn't read the little preview to book 2 and of course it left you hanging so now I'm curious... But I don't know if I'm curious enough to pay for the second book. I would like to find out how their story ends but I don't know if I will. Even the sex scenes had a lot of the same wording in it. I just didn't feel connected to Eve. Actually I was annoyed with her for most of the book. less
