review 1: I have been waiting for Cosmos' book. A human male who is wealthy,an inventor/scientist, and has a secret identity. Terra is the only female in her clan's family. She's a healer, a scientist, and has some pretty good fighting skills courtesy of her brother Mak. She is sent to Earth with Cosmos for her own protection- to avoid a forced mating or being taking prisoner to the Isle of the chosen(place for unmated females). She and Cosmos make a connection and recognize the mating marks. Terra's father Terrick doesn't believe Cosmos can protect her because he's a human. He forbids them from getting together and kidnaps Terra. She is held at the Isle of the Chosen, and Cosmos along with his family and cohorts have to rescue her. Things get worse for Cosmos when his parents are ca... moreptured by the Russians who tried to kill Tansy.Cosmos has to prove he can take care of Terra and protect all the people he loves. I didn't care for all the hook ups and extras- found it confusing. Would have been happy hearing more about just the core characters-the sisters and brothers. The parents- Tilly and Angus are hilarious, even RITA. Good story though.
review 2: I did this book a bit of a dis-service by confusing the timeline (my mistake not the books) so for the first few chapters I was all "hang on but.." Then I realised my error. This was a quality read.I liked that Cosmos got to be a bit of a Bond and it was plausible. I liked that Terra wasn't fighting him. The couple didn't have objections to each other but instead had to work to overcome the obstacles they faced individually and as a couple. I liked that our hero wasn't an alpha-hole who had to save the situation and the world by himself. Instead Cosmos realised that he had a great team to draw on, great help that he could use AND DID. As a result the action was all the more plausible.I also liked that our couple faced some basic issues that other couples do - trying to get pregnant. And it wasn't a case of love / bond can overcome everything.Characters from previous books (and future ones) make appearances and it's great to be caught up with them. I'm also looking forward to following books that will feature couples that we know about (and those we don't).SE Smith has written a fabulous addition to her series. less
