review 1: Good. Interesting. Different. But ultimately not that satisfying. A tale of a man who may or may not be going mad, with so many twists and turns you start to wonder what on earth is going on. The ending feels odd, but does fit. I finished the last 100 pages or so in a rush. I wanted to know what was going on and it gripped me in that way. Only at one point did I have to put the book down as I was too worried to read on. An odd sign, but one that tells me that the writing has worked. What I did like about this was that our protagonist was an ordinary man and there are no heroics worthy of a superhero. So quite grounded in that respect.
review 2: This book was really fabulous. It was gripping from the start, well written and so cleverly done, I really enjoyed
... moreit. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it got a little bit confusing near the end, however if you pushed through that it all became clear. The story was just so different and so possible it was almost too easy to see how we can be encouraged to believe anything. Hope the author can continue to write this well. less
