review 1: This series is such a cozy, and I have enjoyed reading all 15 of them. Unfortunately, Selma Eichler has determined that she is not going to continue on with it. Although I respect that, it appears the decision to stop was made after this 15th installment was written. There is no closure to the series and that really bums me out. Yes, of course I would be saddened if the series was all wrapped up and came to end, but I am really saddened to be left hanging. review 2: I sure hope Selma Eichler decides to write more books featuring Desiree Shapiro. I had a three week "affair" with her, reading all 15 books in the series. All it did was leave me wanting more. Did she work things out with her current boyfriend? Will she find someone more worthy? What happens when he... morer niece and her doctor husband have children?This is one of the most engaging cozy series I have read. Desiree is a full-figured PI who fell into solving murders--an exciting change from her day-to-day spouse tracking and pet finding. The mysteries are involving, with clues provided while Desiree takes "just a few minutes" of her suspects' time as she investigates. We are also treated to Desiree's life--boyfriends, her niece and her boyfriend, her friends, etc.--the best part of cozy mysteries.Eichler doesn't disappoint. She not only writes involving mysteries, she sprinkles them with everyday life and humor. Desiree is not a 5'8" beauty with a gun, but a "real" woman who often can't find her gun in her huge disorganized purse. She loves to cook and to eat.I love love love this series. less
