review 1: A wonderful story about using your imagination. Rabbit has a suitcase and as he meets a friend, the friend asks if there is something inside the suitcase for them. Dog wants a bone, toucan wants a leaf that will remind him of home, etc. As each animal looks in the suitcase, their wish is fulfilled. This is a book to be explored as children discover all the things that each animal receives from Rabbit's suitcase. At the very end, of course, it is Rabbit's turn to see what the suitcase holds for him. I would use this one with the four and five years old crowd. Though it could certainly be enjoyed by other ages as well. It would be a fun activity to have a suitcase filled with paper, crayons, markers, glue sticks, etc. so each child could create their own image after t... morehis books was read aloud to them.
review 2: This was another summer reading selection for my son, though he couldn't really focus on this one because it was a half-wordless book. Rabbit has a magic suitcase that gives his friends Dog, Toucan, Bear, Cat, Mouse, and Crab whatever they are asking for, but Rabbit wonders if it has enough for him too. It does, it is full of his friends and a giant radish for Rabbit. The repetitiveness got boring after the second time, but I liked the imagination of the book. Recommended for ages 3-7, 3 stars. less
