review 1: This is a great story for younger children and beginning readers. When bear wakes up from a long slumber he is very hungry and spots a beehive. When he approaches the beehive, Bee pops up from behind and offers honey. Bear did not know that Bee was a bee because he had never seen a bee before and thought they were terrible monsters with big teeth and sharp claws that most certainly did not share their honey. At the end of the story bear learns that Bee is a bee and indeed shares his honey. The illustrations in this book are very simple. They are free of clutter and keep the focus on the two friends, Bear and Bee. However, the simplicity of the illustrations also takes away from the picture’s ability to tell the story on their own. This book would be an appropriat... moree book for children between the ages of 2 and 5 who are entering the preschool years and are learning the concept of “sharing.”
review 2: Bear and Bee is an adorable book about two unlikely friends. I feel that this book would appeal to children, because of the colorful pictures, as well as the book is funny. The bear is very afraid of bees and at one point mistakes himself as one. This type of humor is very entertaining to children. In addition to the story being funny, the pictures have a way of teaching kids good morals by showing the reader that although something may seem different and scary, it could turn out to be very nice. less

Nothing too exciting--just straightforward, charming, and satisfying.

A bear who forgets he's a bear and thinks he's a bee. Hilarious!
