Reviver Trilogy
review 1: Loved the premise for this story, which was why I started reading. People known as "Revivers" are able to bring back the dead--temporarily at least--to offer loved ones the chance to say goodbye or to give homicide detectives crucial first-hand testimony. I was expecting much more from this book than a cookie cutter thriller and unfortunately, that's what this is. Sure, there was the other-worldly paranormal stuff thrown in as well, but for me there was nothing new or exciting here. The characters in the story--mostly flat and lifeless--mirror my opinions of "Reviver." But I'm sure that in the proper hands, this trilogy will be a wildly successful movie franchise.
review 2: Ignore the cover, which makes this look like a zombie novel; it's about forensic revival
... moreists who can coax out a few last words from the dead ... and the mysterious evil that takes note of their meddling. I really liked the premise and its spooky suggestiveness of Things Beyond, although the end began to slip into standard horror-novel tropes that, I suppose, permit the development of a trilogy. Still, if you enjoy evil conspiracies to conquer the world and mysteries from beyond the grave, you'll find this an entertaining read; I'm willing to take a look at the sequel and see if the author manages to recapture the spookiness. less

A lot different than anything I have read. Drug on a little bit towards the end, but ended nicely.
