review 1: Giving this one of my rare five star reviews. The writing in this book was pure magic. I loved Charlie's voice, I loved the nerdy math references and metaphors, I loved the geek references. Yes, I even I fist-pumped when I read the line, "Brighton goes through English teachers like Hogwarts devours Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers" (page 12). The narrative explored intensely and honestly the relationship that develops between Charlie and Charlotte. I was really transported to these characters' lives. I felt for them, and more importantly, I felt WITH them. And there were so many amazing lines throughout the book that made me just stop and marvel at the prose. I'll be rereading this one soon, just to study how Ms. Alexander crafted this little gem. Definitely recommen... mored. Definitely check out this story.
review 2: 4.5 only because I know the author & heard her voice at the beginning, but eventually I only heard Charlie. I loved the combo of mathematics, formulas, & science with literature; innovative twist on the teen love story. But, this is more than a teen love story, I found myself relating to it on different levels and wanting to highlight some beautifully written passages. And, yes, I choked up,(and had to sit quietly & reflect after finishing), but I also laughed out loud. Great new voice in teen lit! less

It didn't make me feel anything, plus the plot was a total copy cat
