review 1: Kind of like a Hangover movie with teenagers. Also kind of like a Choose your Own Adventure, except there are only two choices. Alternating chapters play out two paths the narrator, Simon, follows after choosing 1) to go gangbusters for his newly available longtime crush and 2) to go a completely new direction toward the "ketchup girl." The paths overlap and both take place at a rowdy high school party -- complete with keg, pool, and bedrooms. Characters are witty, both drunk and sober, and the dual routes are fun to follow.
review 2: Boy meets girl, falls for girl, doesn't have the cahones to kiss her when he gets a chance so instead he obsesses over her for 3 years. Now she's newly single and throwing a party. What could go wrong??.... Apparently a lot. I l
... moreiked the alternating plot lines. It gives a different depth and perspective to the story. I guess since I was never a horny teenage boy I couldn't fully grasp why he put himself through so much stuff. This is definitely a book that I was glad that I won from pulseit.com instead of actually shelling the money out for it. I liked the intentions behind the book but not the execution. less
