review 1: Really nice, quick read. I didn't realise it was part of a series, observant of me, but no matter, it read like a stand alone.I liked the two MC's, Jay and Drake. Drake still hung up on his ex, going back to him when he breaks up with his current lover, in spite of it being a use, pretty typical. He likes Jay but is hung up on their age gap. Jay being drawn to his sexy, more alpha neighbour, in light of an abusive ex, and he is a bottom after all, it's pretty believable. I liked Jay's friends, Geoff and Tammy, and Ross, Drake's high maintenance ex, didn't bother me.There was a little bit of angst, not much, but enough to drive some emotion. Not much sex, just near the end, but the story so sweet, the build so well done, I had no problem waiting.Probably sweeter than most b... moreooks I usually read but so enjoyable.I'd like to add that I've only just started reading some writers attached to Amber Quill. As a personal observation, I'm finding them to be really good, the editing tight and the general quality high. Finally His was an example of this. I will definitely look for more by Shawn Lane.
review 2: I really don't know how to rate this sequel, even when I like the story, I didn't like the main character Drake at all. He was 10 years older than Jay, although, his behaviour didn't show any maturity, quite the opposite.I loved Jay, he was so adorable, I beg to differ Drake was perfect for Him.As the story has a HFN ending, my only consolation is, that in the future Jay will realised he deserve someone much better than this loser. less

It was my favourite of the series. I wanted to kick Drake's butt for hurting Jay. loved the end.
