review 1: This book has some very heavy subject matter in it but I felt it was to short to properly cover it. I liked the set up for the book with both Biton and Cavan lost for different reason and needing something. I also liked the characters and them being together. Yet I was also conflicted with the extent of Cavan's abuse made it very hard for me to get behind a D/s relationship between the two of them. Adding to the fact that Cavan's therapy was completely glossed over I had trouble believing in thirty days he would be able to do even a mild brat behavior and be ok with the final part with the level of abuse he went in. Alot of time in this book was spent putting Cavan's old Master behind bars instead of focusing on Cavan's recovery. I can't help but think this should have ... moreeither been a longer book to put more focus on Cavan's journey to get to that end scene and add a little more layering on Biton and the loss of his slave and new attachment to someone else.
review 2: I really enjoyed this short story. I love a feel good book and this one made my heart weep with joy. Biton is a warm and caring man that is trying to heal his broken heart, and Cavan is an abused young man that is lost in so many ways. I became so enraged about the abuse that was inflicted on Cavan. At times I had to stop and take a breath. It brought joy to my heart that Biton took the time to try to heal Cavan's tortured mind and soul despite the fact his lifestyle may become public knowledge.If you like HEA (happily ever after) books this will appeal to you! less
