review 1: 5 stars! What a great read! This was my first Shelli Stevens book but it sure won't be my last. I usually stay FAR AWAY from books featuring sheikhs but I am so glad I gave this a chance. The story begins when Holly arrives in Rafiq's kingdom and pleads with him to save her brother from a potential prison sentence. Holly and the hero have a past, a short affair that ended when Rafiq wrongly suspected Holly who was then a famous model was prostituting herself to have a great career. The hero accepts to give her brother his freedom but only if Holly stay there and pose as his mistress. I love, and I mean mega girl crush love Holly. I admired her strength and her kindness. She wasn't just a passive mistress to the sheikh. Instead she opened her mind and heart learned Arabic, ... moreembraced the traditions of his country, mingled with the locals and his people loved her. What's most important she turned Rafiq from a cold detached ruler to a kind considerate man and thus earned the love and respect of his people. This story was completely addictive from the first page to the last. To say that I devoured it would be an understatement. It had romance, drama, jealousy, a likable heroine, a sexy hero and the sweetest epilogue!
