review 1: Welcome to McLaughlin's Pub, where pints are cold, whiskey flows & Scottish TEMPTATIONS run amok!Delonna has always seems to collect male bottom feeders, so when she discovers her $6k missing from her super secure coffee can, she knows her totally ex can be added to that long list of worthless worms. Now she has to start from $0 to make her dream come true, of owning her own pub. At least she still has be great bartending job at McLaughlin's Pub, but her boss is her sexual kryptonite & totally off limits because his is her roommate's, Kenzie, brother & HELLO it's her boss! To relieve his sperm backup, he has quick s... morehags with nameless women. Aleck has being trying to keep the gorgeous & luscious wee lass of a bartender in the friend zone, but he keeps reliving the sizzling devouring kiss, that she laid on him, in her itsy bitsy undies, a few months ago. He doesn't sleep with his employees, she is too young & deserved more than a quickie, but he has no heart to give her! Again temptations are a beotch!A masked man attacks Delonna at her front door, slams her into the door, puts his hands around her throat, squeezes & tells her he wants her ex's debt paid in full, even if its through her. Soon she is overwhelmed with police cars, reports, a blood CSI team, nosy McLaughlins & 1 stubborn Aleck. There is no way Aleck will allow her to stay here, so he grabs a empty bag & packs her some clothes (even searches her undies draw) all without Delonna permission. Now they are with each other 24/7, her girlie parts are doing a HAPPY DANCE for some Aleck action & he is craving her tight, wet, warm & smoldering channel. When they finally succumb, they both take a gigantic bite of the FORBIDDEN FRUIT & are engulfed into a nuclear meltdown, until gunfire rocks the Pub, literally! So after another round of police, another CSI team, reports & some nosy McLaughlins, they go to his home in Scotland, to help his mom with his dad after surgery & to get her away from the danger. So with a romantic Edinburgh as a backdrop, 2 meddling parents, some undies ripping, an private flat to get down (or up) & dirty in, a Scottish McLaughlin's Pub, too many Scottish whiskies, naughty misbehaving & a barrel full of uncomfortable feelings bring their MISadevnture to a screeching dead stop! Can Aleck finally let his heart out to accept her love? Will Delonna finally snag a good man or be left once again? Can they love 1 another before it's too late? Will the McLaughlin clan meddling help or hurt them? As I read this romance, I realized that I discovered Ms. Stevens' romances back in 2010 with her Seattle Steam series & I fell in love with your writing all over again! Delonna (still nor to sure if I love or hate this name) attracted total male scum because, in my humble opinion, didn't think she deserved better. Aleck has a deeply scarred heart after he lost his 1st & only love, so he NEVER wanted to opened that door to his heart ever again. Ms. Stevens slowly peeled back Delonna & Aleck's layers, as she exposed their inner fears & with those fears, came their wants & needs that they were to scared to go after. She not only creates characters that jump off the ePages or pages, but she develops this unique, hilarious, loving & "everyone is in your buzinezz" family to go with it. The McLaughlin clan was the 3rd character in this tale & I DOUBLE DARE y'all not fall in love with them all! Now since it was a romance, let's chat about SEX, shall we! Ms. Stevens wrote scandalous scenes that were hard, dirty & naughty up against many available surfaces, like walls, doors, beds & my all time favorite, laid out on a plush pool table. So in other words, she let Delonna's freak flag fly & she anchored it to Aleck's pole & never wanted it to let it go! I absolutely loved McLaughlin's Pub, felt welcomes as I pulled up a barstool, got to look at all the yummy eye (the McLaughlin boys) candy, order a pint, a shot of whiskey & watch the sparks fly between these 2 stubborn folks as they gobbled up all the FORBIDDEN FRUIT! Ms. Stevens earned my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes & I can't read another McLaughlin clan adventure.NetGalley ARC given for my honest review.
review 2: I definitely love reading book because it had so much emotion throughout the story. The story has so much that it made it a quicker read. I definitely fell in love with Aleck. Aleck is so hunky and passionate that it makes total sense for reader to fall in love with. Who does like Scottish man? Delonna is definitely the perfect women for Aleck. She is totally beautiful and a great personality that it was no surprise for Aleck to fall for her. They definitely had a rough start but it was worth to be together. Delonna definitely have a rough start because her ex left her completely broke and a bookie on her tail. Aleck have found out and insist to help her because he secretly have a thing for her. They both begin a hilarious and romance journey together. Another great book. less
