review 1: At my local huge-box store, there are assorted stations where ladies in hair nets offer samples of food. I'm assuming the intent is to lure the customer into buying the product, which is usually conveniently located nearby. Sometimes, the sample is so bad that I wonder why the companies would want the consumer to know in advance just how bad it is. They would be better off putting their money into packaging. Then by the time the consumer spits it out, the money has been spent. I suppose the customer could take it back and demand a refund, but how often does that happen?The selections in this anthology aren't that bad. If they were, I would have given one star. They are competently written, and there was a copyeditor involved somewhere along the line, so they are free of ty... morepos and egregiously bad grammar.Unfortunately, they are forgettable. There was not one selection that tempted me to buy the book or even remember it by the time I was finished. I think this was a freeby from Bookbub or Pixel of Ink or some such service, so I didn't pay good money for it. I wish I had back the time I spent, though. That's gone forever, and there won't be any more.I'm sorry for the authors. I'm willing to bet that being included in this anthology was a big thrill for them, and that they had high hopes. I wish them well, and maybe they will find their readers. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. YMMV.
review 2: This is a great way to promote books and get readers interested in your novels. I’m a romance buff and I was eager to read this book. I have to say it didn’t disappoint.Although there were some stories I didn’t care for, such as Hidden Crimes and Lips That Touch Mine (it was way to drawn out and by the time it got to the love scenes I had lost interest).But I did enjoy the rest of the stories, especially Just Perfect and Justin: Tales of the Shareem. It makes me want to buy the actual books and learn more about the authors. less
