The Sweet Magnolias
review 1: Jeanette came to Serenity to help the Sweet Magnolia's with their new spa. She found food good people in Serenity and true friends. She became an adopted Sweet Magnolia. She no longer enjoys anything to do with the Holiday season because of family issues, and this year is no exception. So when Maddie tries to convince her to be on the Holiday Festival Committee to promote the Spa, she flatly refuses. Tom McDonald is the new town manager that comes from a very prestigious family in Charleston. He is very interested in Jeanette and when she finally concedes to the Festival, he tries to make his move. Neither one knowing that Tom's mother was once threatening to sue not only Jeanette, but also the spa she was working at the time in Charleston. It makes an awkward start of any... more relationship. With all the holiday decorations and festivities, their is magic in the air. I really enjoyed this book and meeting some new characters. It's a wonderful holiday romance with love, forgiveness and magic. I love this series and looking forward to more.
review 2: Am so sorry to admit that i have never read any of the books of Sherryl Woods, but i do not regret i have started with this one. The book has a nice plot that will be on the taste of any reader, and love that the writer has used just the "right amount" of romance. All the story happen in the Serenity city, where Tom McDonald and Jeanette Brioche are giving the "assignment" to work at the Christmas festival. At the beginning they both had a hard working for the event because of each past history, but the Christmas spirits made them change their mind. The whole time work together a nice romance had growing between the two of them. Their love helps them go over the obstacles that come along this time. This is one of my first books that i read of romance and i just fell in love with it and with all the characters. Each character has an importance of this book, without any of them the story will make no sense. I do not give 5 start only because is not the type of book that i use to read but for someone that is not used to romance i can tell you that i have enjoyed reading it every page. less
