review 1: Raylene is a very hurt woman. She has an abusive marriage behind her, his ex-husband is in jail with a very short emprisonment and she's terrified to get out of her home.She's agoraphobic and she's scared of everything. And Carter Rollins is ready to help her off her fears but he has issues on his own. His little sisters are with him after their parents' death and Carrie, the older of the two is on anorexia.The poor Carter is a saint because he's trying to have everything sorted out! I liked the story very much, loved interactions with family and friends.The story is very chaste, the author pretty much closes the door after our hero and heroine are in bed. All in all a good story.
review 2: This book was the best of this trilogy, part two of Woods' Sweet Magnol... moreia series. The main character, Raylene, has agoraphobia largely in reaction to an abusive marriage. Despite this, she is a multidimensional character romanced by the Sherriff's deputy, Carter, who initially stereotyped her as a selfish socialite. The plot line revolving around his sister's (Carrie) anorexia is poorly developed. There's no interaction between Carrie and Raylene's friend Annie, who was diagnosed with the same problem in the book 2 of the first trilogy. After a big build-up, the confrontation between Raylene and her abusive ex-husband was anti-climactic. Despite it's flaws, this was a diverting read and a nice visit with characters from earlier books. less
